Tanya Morgan Presents: Laura's Tape

Laura's Tape (click to download)

quality, quality, quality. 'nuff said.

:/

i guess it's safe to say he's not singing this to Christina Milian.

wedding march, anyone?

i mean...it's Andre 3000. need i say more?

ok, the only thing i will say is that this will be the song that will be playing at me and Lavell Crump's (that's David Banner to you) wedding as we walk out of the church. #seriousface

Real R&B

(insert cheesy, kool-aid smile here) Quality R&B is back and back with a vengeance. i imagine the following artists sat around like a meeting of The Justice League and said "something must be done!" like i've stated before....this pop/techno/fistpumping crap they're marketing as R&B is killing me softly and i'm glad many of the greats are coming back to put an end to my misery. enjoi!

REAL R&B

yes Lord. Faith Evans is back. Been jamming to this track for a few weeks now so I'm glad she's releasing a video. Between Faith and Tank....real R&B might just stand a fighting chance. No more of this R&B/House/Pop mess. #quality

"The Naked Soul of Sweet Jones

Pimp is dead ya'll. For real. But his legacy lives on through his music. This is yet another #quality track from the Pimp himself. God I miss him :(

marsha, marsha, marsha.

(charlie brown voice) ARGGGGHHHH!!! I simply cannot get enough of this chick. She is the truth.com!! Somehow this February 2010 release managed to slip past me but now that I have it in my iTunes possession...chilllll boo! Every song on the mixtape is simply genius and as always...Marsha Ambrosius never ceases to amaze. #iloveha

D. Woods- Lady in the Street Mixtape (click to download)

D. Woods has always been one of my fav members of Danity Kane and this mixtape might have given her the edge up on her former bandmates. The title track "Lady in the Street" is straight, 100%, pure, uncut FIYA!

no one knows about me
so they can't talk about me
bet if i open up to you
you won't forget about me
i keep an air of mystery so you can dream about me
i know just what you want and baby that's what i'll be
Clawd have mercy.

sheesh.

talk about art imitating life.

GOOD Music

do i need a reason to celebrate?

Tank ft Drake- Celebration (click to download)

Speaking of comebacks...Tank is back on the scene with a new album set to drop September 21st. He's teamed up with Drake for this smooth track and i am a fan. While I must admit i'm more than a little tired of Drake, this is one of my favorite Drake verses.

how'd i do? how'd i do?
baby tell me how you feel
they say real girls ain't never perfect
perfect girls ain't real
i'd agree, but i guess we'll just wait and see
cause i swear you act like perfect's the only way to be

He's Backkkkk!!!!

not only did my man Yeezy deliver the top performance of the night (no surprise there) but his new song "Runaway" ft Pusha-T of The Clipse.....fiya!!! I cannot wait for his album to drop (sometime in November i'm hearing). this song is beyond quality. go Yeezy go.

mannnn wha?!?

Stop the excuses don't believe the lies
make up you mind and try instead of
Making mountains out of molehills
when their not even real
Need to go and follow your dreams
its not as hard as it seems
did i inspire him to write this? kinda feel like i did. hmm...interesting.

...all is right with the world.

Ron Isley ft Lauryn Hill- Close to You (click to download)

Ron Isley and Lauryn Hill have a song together. In my wildest of dreams i don't think i could have imagined this. *mercy*

don't say i didn't warn ya...tisk tisk

Willow Smith (daughter of Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith and sister to Karate Kid's Jaden Smith...ya know, in case you've been living under a rock lately) is not only going to take over the world, but she's going to b****slap the likes of Rihanna, Ciara and that poor unfortunate soul known as Cassie in the progress. But young Willow will not slap said starlets with her hand for that doesn't fall under her parent's 'religion' of Scientology (hmmm more of a Baptist thing maybe?) no, she's slapping them with her hair.

well, whadaya know?

soooooo i really don't like Nikki Minaj. i just can't put her in the same category as Queen Latifah, Eve, Salt & Pepa, Lady of Rage, etc... i also can't get with all the hype that comes with dear Nikki. if you're going to rap...then rap. i don't see the need for all that "extra-ness" that she brings along with her. i feel like she's more of a character than a rapper. and i think the same person that writes Lil Wayne's rhymes has lent a helping hand to the self-proclaimed "Harajuku Barbie".

on the other hand....can't really fault the girl for making money. she knew what she needed to do from jump street in order for her to really make a name for herself in the rap game. after all, it is a predominately male dominated industry and sex sells. who knew that colorful wigs/extensions would also sell? (sidenote...she should really hook up with Bronner Brothers and really get paid).

there is a point to this entry, i promise :) while joy-riding through the QC with my Ace, she put me on to the track below. and two miraculous things happened;

1. i listened to a Gucci song and actually enjoyed it.

and 2. the thought actually crossed my mind that Nikki Minaj (or whoever her ghostwriter is) might actually be on to something.

anywho, listen and enjoy because surprisingly, i did.

...i'm just posting this for my own personal gain.
